this is one old art piece*

like, i like the linux/ wacom/ krita combo

[EDIT]
i said i liked that 'combo' but this art piece is so old, i don't recall what software setup i was using*
[/EDIT]

see i used to have a larger black acrylic ball for contact juggling, and that's one of the static holds in cj,  tho i haven't yet mastered incorporating it into my contact juggling.  such are things, but i got rid of this black ball by now.  started with a smaller clear balls, well, went thru several clear ones of the same smaller size.  then messed with quite a bit bigger black one, then now i have this, which is like a little bit bigger than the clear ones were:

looks like its labeled as 'translucent green' online

hehe, speaking of balls, here's something else i've owned for a while.  it's known quite a bit of my path:

"just a sphere of amethyst"

this is even smaller than the clear balls i started with, but the most expensive i guess.  it was like 40 bux i think.  at some online rock store.  i had had my eye on this particular one for what must have been at least months.  heh

i blab.  yay balls

[EDIT 2]
thought to add another pic to show better the size of this amethyst, and figured i had it in desk setup atm, tho take it as you will, being in 'night mode' here.  heh:

to be fair, i'll elaborate~
i don't have this for contact juggling, and i suppose in the course as years pass, i have likely tried it before, but i won't again, if i have, at all.

success for a day~

hopefully a good omen of a setup here

i engaged more 'activities' than i normally do, today, which is how i ranked today as 'success.'

read some fiction, tho in ebook form.  played some of the video game i've been working on, breath of fire/ gba.  practiced some of the contact juggling.  actually only the second time lately of contact juggling, and i recorded and shared from the first day i did some.  did my full qigong practice.  shaved with the spiff, today.

the bt speaker is proving an interesting element.  that, with phone/ spotify, its a way to venture away from desktop...  or so it would seem.  still early, yet.  anyway.

success i wanted to share here.  heh.

maybe i'll be able to keep up the contact juggling, and see about sharing some worthwhile content going forward...

well, that's a post, so ~peace

thinking interesting thoughts :D

like ultimately the goal being to take the contact juggling public again.  i've done it before, and i likely owe a lot of my skills to those durations of practice over the course of the years.  i'll soon have a workable bt speaker.  last times i've spent have been with personal listening devices, if i recall.  or of course, simply no music.

anyway, you gotta break down things like that, so.  if i'd like to one day ride a bike around with my cj setup in my backpack/bag, to settle for spells, with some contact juggling, i think for now, maybe i should try the backyard.

so that will be my most immediate goal for such thought/paths.  so if i'm more than less successful going forward, i'll have some more contact juggling material to share.  hopefully, it'll be such as so.

anyway, just sharing enthusiasm atp i guess

[EDIT]
ya know, i had done some recent contact juggling with that panasonic video camera, and it looks like, i somehow, overlooked sharing a link to that video here on the blog.  woops.  so here's some footage on the video device i'll be using, going forward*

more oft posting...

for more oft solutions (?)

this is already in my setups tho repro cart, i don't mind, i think its nice having cart

i had started the bof snes version recently on a flash cart (sd2snes), but rather feeling like handhelds, like got this gba sp in mind now, and repro cart bests flash cart in personal preference, hehe, so i justified moving my play to gba, in same game.

started up a short saved game i had last night, and i am so far almost to where i was on snes bof:

good times

the original 'brighter screen' version of this gbasp's screen still works great imo.  if feels quite nice pulling this thing back out, fwiw.

snapshots off attention~

what i could and should be doing, at such a point of time as now, i guess:

so much to do~

first party console option, in handheld form -- with an aftermarket shell i put on it

i've not often messed with blank paper notebooks, so this is a new /graphite/ venture

and i just really wanna read this, and im sort of losing interest in the other book i've been reading*

yea, so much to do...  it's never ending.  but i'll keep trying.  hehe.

not yet ready to give up on breath of fire snes on the crt tv setup, either, so...  there's that too.

ok then, guess that's it for a post!

i think this has potential~

quite some time ago, i worked for panasonic for a brief period.  and they trained me on a bunch of their consumer devices.  kinda like with canon, i've liked both brands for their picture/video devices.  and i've added a retro video device now, from panasonic.  it takes sd cards, so i think its newer than the ones i worked with back in those days, but i'm old, so its still retro  :P

its does 720p and its definitely retro*

i'm still pondering things to do with this, but i'm having fun with the possibilities.  should work with the tripod i have, that i've used with the gopro.  and yes the gopro is more hq (hero 4) doing 1080p video, but this panasonic is much cooler.

anyway, this thing is Panasonic HC-V10 (black), for the record.

and that is my post

[EDIT]
i guess i can share some frame of reference of video device/ setups i've used before.  the following was with an old gopro (hero 4) and a pretty economical tripod that works perfectly imo. (and which i think this aforementioned panasonic will work with too, tho i haven't tried yet*).  anyway:

leaning into a 'graphite' mood~

getting my 5.6mm lead setup organized/setup.  i plan to move forward with this brass kaweco lead holder.  i am excited, tho tempering my expectations

graphite and inks are both kewl, but its nice to flip-flop sometimes  :)

ya know...

over the years...

i've done some of my deepest work in the tai chi/ chi studies while confined in psych wards...  felt free to walk around all day, and practice movement dance, and do things like coloring with oil pastels, outside of the therapies and structured activities...  sometimes i never wanted to leave.

i haven't been deemed psychologically unfit enough to go back to a psych ward in a long time.  but i am inspired 'again' to see if i can structure my routines a bit more like those i had while back in those times.

this would be easier if i could simplify things a bit.  this would be hard.  but i may start considering another round ebaying to sell off some more of my crap.

just desiring a deeper dive in the arts, in the disciplined nature of 'practice.'

we'll see if i can nurture this into some fruition.

anyway, thanks for stopping by, folks.  (sorry about the 'unfriendly' post last night...  not in such good spirits)

downshifting*

easing into a more peaceful mode...

life isn't meant for the path i've been on...

wrong direction...

i need to correct course, and better the heading...

here's an item in the spirit of today's theme:

at some point, i had to have this*

maybe i should edc this for awhile~

~related to that last poem~

i had some old art from that same mindspace.  maybe you'd like to see it here in this current blogspace:

"useful to some folks"

this seems handy, and i couldn't remember it, having saved it in a script for convenience sake.  but it works well for keeping screen awake for me in linux.  i'll just share what i use for my script files, short and sweet:

gui-wake.sh:
 #!/bin/bash
xset -dpms; xset s off

gui-unwake.sh:
#!/bin/bash
xset -dpms; xset s on

they are probably self explanatory, but the 'gui-wake.sh' keeps the screen awake, and the 'gui-unwake.sh' puts it back to normal.

 cheers!  (your welcome)

:P

[EDIT]

I had found the main part of this code online at some point but searching now I can't find it.  I had to boot a Thinkpad with the script as I had reinstalled debian to the desktop*

Of reasons

 One or many

Any will do-

Take with me

Forward,

Please don't fall back

The world is worth trying

A life is worth too

Used to make poems

Used to share too

When did I stop

Did I forgot how too ?
